In 2002, Cam Brensinger incorporated Nemo Equipment, Inc with the purpose of bringing high-level design and manufacturing to the outdoor industry. After two months, following his graduation, Cam moved Nemo to a major mill in Nashua, NH.
A short drive from both New Hampshire’s White Mountains and with all the business resources available from connections at RISD and MIT, Nashua was the ideal location to open the headquarters of the company.
Most of the first year was spent learning how to sew and pattern and emerging Nemo’s AirSupported Technology. Tents were selected as Nemo’s first product line because Cam saw the chance to bring significant new innovation to the market and knew that effectively revolutionizing tents would give Nemo the integrity to move into new product lines in the near future.
Since then, Nemo has won many awards in the outdoor industry which also includes Gear of the Year from Outside Magazine for the Losi 3P tent.
Nemo contributes its achievement to the brand’s image to be the leading source of product novelty for outdoor hobby and survival while using originality to inspire a love of adventure, respect for the planet, and a love of the people and places that make the exploration possible.
