Made of feather-weight ABS reinforced structure, the 400g Parrot Bebop Drone has an outstanding flight track record. Designed with the highest standards of robustness and safety in mind this drone can be safely operated indoors and outdoors thanks to its EPP hulls. And for maximum airborne stability the drone features 3-axis sensor technology.
Bebop’s camera is an ingenious structure fastened with shock absorbers that cushion vibrations. It captures sharp and precise images and videos which are digitally processed and stored on 8GB Flash Memory. Videos are stored in MP4 format (photos in JPEG and DNG formats). These can be transferred to another device via Wi-Fi or USB.
Safe or disastrous?
This drone is quite well-built. Its structures are ABS reinforced and in the event of a collision the propellers stop automatically. Its emergency mode allows the drone to land immediately thereby ensuring total safety. Finally, its GPS system is enhanced with a Return Home function which brings the drone back to you.
Intelligent or dumb?
Parrot Bebop Drone is equipped with 2.0 onboard computer which runs on Linux OS (with SDK). The computer’s key features include P7 dual core CPU, 8 GB Flash Memory and quad-core GPU. To prevent possible interference with the working of this computer, all of its components are fixed on magnesium shelf which acts both as a radiator and electromagnetic shielding.
Built with 2 dual-band Wi-Fi antennas, this drone is designed for MIMI Wi-Fi connection. It handles both 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ MIMO frequencies. Besides that, it generates its own Wi-Fi hotspot – Wi-Fi 802.11 network. Based on the type and quality of network in your area, you can select the option that suits you best.
There have been complaints about this drone losing Wi-Fi connectivity but these probably have everything to do with quality of network.
The drone comes with two rechargeable lithium ion batteries. Unfortunately, due to its small, compact size it means that you don’t have room for bigger batteries. For this reason Parrot Bebop flight time is limited to 11 minutes (according to the manufacturer’s website). This time limit can get even shorter in case of high winds or fast flying. The good thing is that the batteries are removable. So you can pack up a few extras including the free second pack. Each battery takes about 90 minutes to charge fully.

Drones are notorious for struggling with battery life. Parrot Bebop’s battery life matches other drones in the same price range.
Easy to operate?
All parts of this drone are removable and easy to re-assemble and transport. Its user friendly Freeflight 3 app has an intuitive user interface allowing you to enjoy the pleasure of venturing sky-wards. This app has been developed for Android and iOS Smartphones and tablets. Simplified tutorials and manuals are provided.
Easy to operate
Parrot Bebop Drone is available in primary colors – red, blue and yellow. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use – thanks to its reliable features. Additionally, the fact that it comes with a spare battery means that if well managed it can give up to 22 minutes of flight-time.
